I'm really quite good with Windows, but my Linux experience is close to two decades old. So, I've been playing around with a Linux Mint distro. I've installed Serviio 1.9.1 on it with no issues, but I'm at a loss on how to do an upgrade installation. If I simply unpack the GZ file, I have a new folder with a different name, so I'd have to make changes to the startup script and reconfigure my library. There must be a better way. With Windows, you just run setup and it updates the existing install. I can't find any script that looks like an install.I know there are Linux users out there that must have done this before. You don't really treat each update as a brand new installation, do you?
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
